Aspiring Student Filmmaker Scholarship

The Script to Screen competition offers first time student filmmakers the chance to produce a 5-10 minute film

with a $1,000 budget and receive mentorship throughout the filmmaking process. 

Competition Details

Script Details

1.
This script is for a short and should be between 5-10 pages.

2.
The script should spark joy in either the character or the viewer.

3.
​Script must include:
title page
cast of characters page
 brief bio of the screenwriter

4.
Must be written in proper script format using Final Draft or Celtx.

Deadlines

Scripts Due 
January 9th

Winner Notified
By March 1

Submit Budget
2 Weeks after notification 

Final Project & Final Accounting
May 10, 2026

Film Premiere
May 6, 2027

Final project deadline may be changed upon request in 2026

Elegibility & Rules

  1. You must be a student currently enrolled in high school or college between the ages of 13-23.

  2. You must have never screened at a Film Festival before.

  3. Failure to submit the final version of your film by the deadline means you are responsible for returning 100% of the funds used, plus $200. *Notify us ASAP if you think you may run into an issue and we will deal with that on a case-by-case basis.
