Aspiring Student Filmmaker Scholarship
The Script to Screen competition offers first time student filmmakers the chance to produce a 5-10 minute film
with a $1,000 budget and receive extra mentorship benefits throughout the filmmaking process.
Hey Kanab Cowboys!
We’re thrilled to invite you to enter the Aspiring Student Filmmaker Scholarship contest!
Our nonprofit, Roth Ventures, is dedicated to supporting film and the arts in Kane County — and we want your help to make Kanab “Little Hollywood” again.
Because you’re local, the Kanab Film Fest Creative Team will work with you to bring your story to life. And it all starts with a great idea.
Below are a few short videos to help you develop your concept into a complete story. We recommend starting by writing your story in a Word document — just get your ideas out of your head and onto the page. Once your story feels solid, convert it into a proper script using the free screenwriting software Arc Studio.
If you don’t have access to a laptop that can run the software, no worries — we’ll also accept a three-page, single-spaced story written in Word. Please export a PDF.
🗓️ Deadline: Submit your story by January 9, 2026 — that’s the first Friday after winter break.
🏆 Winner Announcement: On or before March 1, 2026.
